Anyô ˈan-yo is a Filipino noun meaning figure, form or appearance. Formed in Manila in 2005, this power lineup of musicians is composed of Kettle Mata on guitar and vocals, Janby Teodoro on bass and Leo Barrite on drums. Anyô’s music defies precise categorization. The music of Anyô can be best described as modern rock with hints of power pop, taking influence from such bands and artists like John Mayer, Coldplay, Vertical Horizon, Switchfoot, The Police and U2.
Anyô, as a group may be fairly new but its members are seasoned musicians in the Philippine music scene. Two are working musicians doing session and studio works for some of the Philippines’ top recording artists.
They have been playing regularly in various bars such as Saguijo, 6UG, MAG:NET, Guerrilla Bar, Conspiracy Bar, Checkpoint, Casa Nami Surf Pub and others. They have also performed a few times on Unang Hirit & Walang Tulugan, was part of Raise the Roof, a benefit gig for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy and has played in several private functions. In 2010, they released their debut album and is currently preparing to kick things into high gear.
